TransGender United is set out to be:- An online community and safe refuge for anyone who is TG, TS, Intersexed, and anyone sympathising and/or seeking knowledge
- A global human rights movement for the ethical, equal treatment and unification of all gender identities
- A global initiative for the breeding of awareness among society thus creating acceptance
In 2008 and 2009, 163 people are known to have been murdered because of their gender identity or gender expression. " No one deserves to be fired, refused work, denied housing, education or credit, or suffer harassment or violence just because of who they are -- but transgender and gender non-conforming people routinely face all of these for transitioning from one sex to another, or simply for defying expectations of what a "normal" man or woman looks like. " We as society, can all contribute to end this. We all can stop for a moment and consider, how we make the lives of transgendered people to a living hell. Being a constant victim of bureaucratic rules setup without concern about people, the hardship of going through a physical transition that most have to face alone, because their family and friends have abandoned them. Being a constant target of society's mockery, ignorant fear and miscomprehension, they face a struggle everyday everywhere around the world that is unnecessary and undeserved and unheard... And we can best it if only we become aware of our attitude against transgendered people, understand the position our society forces them in and tackle the everyday situations in which they are discriminated or depicted badly in any other way. Its a matter of awareness, and we can all improve that. Know who transgendered people are and the trials they face and embrace them. Tell others they have nothing to fear. Do not expell someone simply for their gender identity. This site is run by Airethilien, a Dutch 28 y/o (born female, female mind (?!) ), who has been watching the grief large-scale worldwide violation of human rights against transgender people for several years now.Being lesbian and a resident of a country formerly under nazi regime in WW2, she thinks that after many have fought for her freedom and the life she is able to live now, its her turn.Let us all make sure TG/TS /TV people can live their lives as they wish, no matter where in the world that is. The colorset of this website are purple and likewise shades. This is done because these are the resulting colors when blue and pink (the typical gender colors) are blended. ANYONE who sympathizes with the awareness around the human rights of TG/TS people are encouraged to participate! TGU Policy:
